Marcie Polier Swartz – (a.k.a. “The Publisher”) & Editor-in-Chief
In 1976, Marcie Polier launched a little movie gross revenue reporting service, National Gross Service or NGS to the trade, to tally the grosses of movie theaters for the industry. She had been working as a secretary at Mann Theaters when she came up with the concept for a company that is now well known as, Rentrack Box Office Essentials, the worldwide box office authority. While she was expanding her company globally, she began to produce her annual Oscar-themed handicap, “And the Winner Is…” magazine which established for the first time, how much money Oscar© nominated and winning films actually earned. Which actors, directors, writers, cinematographers secure the most Oscar gold? Marcie’s magazine combines her industry knowledge and insight on the stats and trends to offer the ultimate authority on the Academy Awards. Her publication is the most accurate predictor available. She just may know more about who Oscar will choose than Tom Sherak himself. Visit ‘And The Winner Is Magazine’ on Facebook and Twitter.
